Terms of Service
Effective date: October 15, 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") are an agreement between you and Brent Adair d/b/a Signatures In Sync ("Signatures In Sync," "we," "us"). They cover your use of signaturesinsync.com and our mobile notary and loan signing services. By using the site or booking an appointment, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy.
1. Our services
Signatures In Sync provides mobile notary services and loan signing agent services anywhere in Tennessee, 7 days a week. Our notary is commissioned by the State of Tennessee, bonded, insured, and certified as a signing agent by the National Notary Association. Services include acknowledgments, jurats, oaths and affirmations, and real estate loan signings. Your appointment's fee, travel charge, and any extras are quoted before we confirm the booking.
2. Not legal advice
I am not an attorney licensed to practice law in the State of Tennessee, and I may not give legal advice or accept fees for legal advice.
This means we cannot:
- Explain what a document means or what its legal effect will be.
- Tell you which document you need, or help you fill it out or draft it.
- Choose the type of notarization or certificate for you. You, the receiving agency, or your attorney must tell us which one is needed.
- Answer questions about loan terms, rates, or fees. During a loan signing, we will tell you what each document is called and where to sign. Questions about its terms go to your lender, title company, or attorney.
3. What a notarization does
A notarization confirms that the signer appeared in person, proved their identity, and signed willingly. It does not mean we have read, approved, or verified the content, accuracy, or legality of the document.
4. Signer requirements
Every signer must:
- Appear in person at the appointment.
- Present a current, unexpired government-issued photo ID, such as a driver's license, state ID, passport, or military ID. The name on the ID must match the name on the document.
- Understand the document and sign willingly. No one may pressure or speak for the signer.
- Bring a complete document. We cannot notarize a document with blank spaces.
- Provide any required witnesses, unless we arrange them in advance for an added fee.
5. When we may refuse
We may refuse or stop a notarization if a signer cannot be properly identified, the document is incomplete, the signer appears confused, impaired, or pressured, we suspect fraud, or the act would break Tennessee law. If we refuse for one of these reasons after arriving, the travel fee is still owed.
6. Fees, payment, and cancellation
- Fees: Notarial fees are charged as permitted by Tennessee law. Travel, after-hours, printing, and witness fees are separate service fees and are quoted before booking.
- Payment: General notary appointments are paid at the appointment by cash, card, Venmo, Zelle, or other methods as agreed. Loan signings are paid by the hiring company under its agreement with us.
- Cancellation: Please cancel or reschedule at least 24 hours before your appointment. Late cancellations, or a trip where the signing cannot go forward because a signer is absent, lacks valid ID, or the documents are not ready, may be charged a trip fee of $25.00.
- Late arrival: If you are more than 15 minutes late, we may need to reschedule.
7. Loan signings
For loan signings, we act on behalf of the title company, lender, or signing service that hired us, and we follow its instructions. We are not a party to your loan and cannot change any document. We return the signed package by the deadline the hiring company sets.
8. Reviews and testimonials
With your written permission, we may share your feedback on our website and social media. We never ask for positive-only reviews or edit a testimonial in a way that changes its meaning.
9. Website use
You agree not to misuse the website. That includes attempting to access it without authorization, interfering with its operation, or submitting spam or false information. Website content, our logo, and our brand belong to Signatures In Sync.
10. Third-party services
Our services may rely on third parties such as courier services, payment processors, and the companies that hire us for loan signings. Their own terms govern your use of their services. We are not responsible for their delays, errors, or data practices, including courier delivery delays after we hand off a package.
11. Disclaimer of warranties
The website and its content are provided "as is." To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties not expressly stated in these Terms.
12. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Signatures In Sync will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from these Terms or our services, including the rejection of a document by a receiving agency for reasons outside our control. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the fees you paid for the appointment. Nothing in these Terms limits liability for fraud, gross negligence, or willful misconduct, or any liability that cannot be limited under Tennessee law.
13. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Tennessee. Any dispute will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Davidson County, Tennessee. Before filing a claim, please contact us so we can try to resolve it informally.
14. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post changes here with a new effective date. Booking an appointment after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
